Pool Tables After Sales Care

Pool and Snooker Tables are expensive purchases so you will want to do all you can to look after them and prolong their life as much as possible. We’ve put together a few tips below on how best to look after your table.

This is by no means a comprehensive list, and you can find even more useful information in our FAQ’s section. But for anything else just give us a call on our number below and we would be more than happy to answer any other questions that you may have.

Keep your Pool Table in a place at Room Temperature

To enhance the life and quality of play you get from your Pool Table we recommend keeping it in a place where the air is of room temperature. Keeping a table somewhere were it is likely to be cold or where there is moisture in the air will affect the Pool Table cloth and the actual Pool Table Bed especially in the cases of Wood Bed Tables.

Check you have enough room for a Pool Table first

This point is covered to an extent in our FAQ’s section and is something you should check before you buy your Pool Table, but we’ve put it in the After Care section again because it’s so important!

Making sure you have enough room to play shots comfortably is important as this will reduce the chances of you leaning on the table more than is necessary and will reduce the chance of playing risky angled shots into the cloth because of any surrounding obstacles.

It would be worth checking out our Room Size Guides for more information on this important topic.

Look after your Pool Table Cloth

• You can choose from a selection of Brushes to buy for your Pool Table from us on our site. Unfortunately we don't sell Pool or Snooker Table Cloth Cleaner, but there are plenty of products and information.

• We recommend that you brush your Pool Table from the same end each time (i.e. starting from the end where you break to where you rack the balls) and in a straight line. Also, if you run your hand along the Pool Table Cloth and find that one direction is smoother than the other, we recommend brushing in the smoothest direction.

• When brushing make sure you exert just enough pressure to remove dirt, chalk and other debris, but not too much pressure which could cause you to scratch the cloth.

• To clean off any further loose debris and dirt that you have brushed in to the corner of the table, you can use a low powered (hand held) vacuum to finish off the job.

• Your Pool Table will play better if set up on flat surface, as this helps to keep the playing surface even over time. When Pool Tables are set up on carpets or thick rugs, over time the weight of the Pool Table will cause the legs and feet to squash down in to the carpet causing the playing surface to become uneven.

• Using rests for long shots will prevent you from unnecessarily leaning too much on the table. Excess pressure from leaning on your Pool Table over a period of time will have a detrimental effect on how level your playing surface can be maintained.

• This point is self-explanatory but using a cloth to protect your Pool Table is another effective way of protecting your Pool Table and it's Cloth against unwanted scratches and blemishes and can protect against moisture damage.
